Netbook battery voltage

I'm planning to replace the battery I have now since it's rather old and drains relatively quickly. The voltage on my current battery says 10.8v but when I look up the model number and compatible batteries, they are all advertised as 11.1v. Is it okay to use a battery with a higher voltage? I read that the extra 0.3v are negligible and some sources even mentioned that they were essentially the same. Just looking for some reliable and useful information. :)
