I have recently been having problems with my computer screen with the icons and images blowing up real big. I thought the reason for this was I have been using some new software and thought by having this on the computer it messed up some of the programming somewhere. I updated the drivers for the video card and reinstalled them and the images looked right for about three days, and once again, they blowed back up again.
After dealing with this for about a week, I decided to reinstall the OS from scratch, put everything back on the computer etc, and the images on the computer was running fine up until yesterday. Once again everything has gotten really big now, and it is almost impossible to read or even look at what is on the screen (all the scrolling back and forth) unless I go to the display settings. But even there I can not use them effectively, because the only setting I can use is 1280/800 (1024/768 is the normal settings)and the images on there are almost to small to see anything. So my question is, is the video card going bad? I don't want to spend alot of money on chasing down something just to once again find out that it does not work !!!.....It would be alot easier to just buy a new computer.
My computer is a Dell XPS 400 (The whole computer is a little over six years old), Windows XP SP 3, and the video card is a 128MB ATI Hyper Mem PCI-E x16 x300SE,DMI
Thanks for any info you can give me..................Ken
