Hello, this is my first post!
So, I saved a photograph I'm editing in photoshop cs1 as an 8 bit TIFF. All the photo's layers had been merged. I tried to view it in Preview and the image showed the model in it all a white blob (i had previously done editing with layers on her). This made no sense to me as all of my layers had been flattened. I then tried to view the photo by emailing it to myself. The model was fine, but the image was really bright. I went back into Photoshop and noticed my Proof Setup (under View) was set to Working CMYK. I switched it to Machintosh RGB which got brighter, then Windows RGB which returned to the same brightness but with false color, then Monitor RGB (?) which got REALLY bright. So, my questions are.. Why does my emailed picture look so bright, and is this what the image actually will look like (as to say, on a data disk)? How should I view images in Photoshop in regard to Proof Setup and for what reasons? Why is the image in Preview display what I previously had saved at one point?
Thanks world. Any tips or advice for me would be more than welcomed and appreciated.
