Laptop is running very slow with high CPU usage - HELP?!

$

So I have a HP G71 laptop running of Windows 7 with Intel Celeron. It has been getting slower over the last several month and is often running at a ridiculously high CPU usage rate. I have Norton running and ever time I do a full scan it finds nothing which seems unusual, since it is running so slow and also does strange glitchy things.
I'll be quite honest, I am not very computer savvy and I have been trying to figure out how to fix this for a while now with no luck. If anyone has any ideas of what to do, I would be extremely grateful!

I turned on my monitor and there is no picture. The computer is on. The monitor says "no signal." Does this mean the video card has died and needs to be replaced? This top of the line Lenovo computer is only 2 years old :(
I tried plugging another monitor into the other port, same result.

USB Port Issue

Hi guys,

USB ports are driving me crazy, one minute all is ok and I can work for maybe an hour or so, next minute port stops working and I get the Powersurge on Hub Port message.
The only device I am using is my mouse with red light when it is working.
I have to plug the mouse in/out/in/out etc. until the red light comes on again.
Some times after trying many time I get a feeble flickering light.
At that point I try the Irish method by pulling the plug and have a pint.
The mouse works perfectly on my laptop.
I let the computer stand for a wee while only for the above scenario to start all over again.
I am not sure if it is related but when I start my computer first thing I see is the Welcome to the Found New Hardware Wizard, I have installed nothing.Wizard attempt to install Video Controller(VGA) compatible but can't find it.
As I was making the screen print of the Wizard, the Powersurge message came on again but this time I was able to continue.

Elusive flash drive problem

My windows pc system tray acknowledges a working flash drive. In fact 3 different external drives, plugged one at a time into several alternate ports while switching around keyboard, mouse and printer cables.

Except the external drives do not show up as a drive anywhere, when I want to copy to any of them. I've looked in hardware profile, my computer, drop-downs, etc. A particular file I need a copy of is on C:

Another drive shows as "Fileshare:Z" I dont know what this means -- this is not my PC. Drive D: does in fact show as an icon. But when I click it, it says insert cd into the drive.

Do I need Teracopy for Windows8

I'm copying a file that is 12GB onto USB on Windows 8
It's saying it will take 1 hour 15 minutes
Yikes!

Do I need Teracopy?
I thought the clever people at Microsft would have discovered the secrets of the other copiers out there?

Thanks

Possible Mico.Word Hijack or Just Stupid Me

$

It never fails that I need you guys once or twice a year! My latest issue: when going to open Word or Excel documents that opened previously, it cannot and proceeds to download the programs. Then says it still could not open and to repair. I've done the repair, it says that it has completed, and I have to start all over again.

I have recently gone surfing to new web sites looking for a gaming console and suspect redirection malware. Another possibility is that when I was in regeditor deleting leftover traces of an incompatible Nero, I deleted something important. Hard to say hpow exactly this happened. See my signature for laptop specs.

Seagate FreeAgent Go external drive not recognized

Hello, I have a Seagate FreeAgent Go external drive that I have used frequently in the past to backup and store data. My laptop (Win7) is not recognizing it when I plug it in now. I have been through Disk Management and Device Management, but haven't figured out what's wrong yet. The computer does make a small sound both when I plug in the USB cable and when I remove it, but I cannot find any access to the drive. I may have removed some files that the Seagate drive came with inadvertently when removing some data. I've been to Seagate's support site, and was able to install the "Seagate Manager", which also now does not recognize that a Seagate drive is plugged in. Any ideas on how to get this drive to come up?

I have an older game, The game risk, on cd rom and it seems to load up just fine. However when I go to play the game it seems to have an issue with the color and graphics and color management. I have tried to uninstall and re-install and it contnues to do the same action. I really like playing this game and was wondering on what to do next? Btw I have windows vista 7 and my pc is only about 3 months old. It is an hp pavilion, that I had purchased from staples.

Thanks guys for your help

NVIDIA nforce networking controller in win7 problem.

Hello

I had a HP pavilion 6000 notebook pc with win 7 64 bit. A few days ago this problem appeared. The resolution of the display was match lower then usual and all of my network connections was dead (Wired and Wireless). In the device manager I see a yellow sign on the NVIDIA nforce networking controller and on the NVIDIA Geforce Display Adapters. I tried to re install the correct drivers (actually I tried something like 10 different drivers). I think this a strange coincidence that this both devices spoiled together when this both devices are integrated parts of the chip-set.

So I thought - may be it a hardware problem... but before I get an external networking controller I tried to run a Linux operation system on the machine. And guess what I found?... the system was worked as well as it spouse to.

The networking controller is NVIDIA nforce 610m and the Display Adapters is NVIDIA Geforce 7000M.

Can it be a operation system problem?
And if so how it can be fixed?

Thanks a lot.....
