1) Currently my hard disk has got a Dynamic MBR and the default SATA configuration mode is AHCI. It works nicely for windows 7. But when I tried to install windows xp, a BSOD will appear. Later i came to know that windows xp doesn't have any AHCI drivers.. So I enabled IDE mode in BIOS. But then windows 7 is not booting. When i disabled IDE mode, windows 7 started booting. Why this happens??

2) Also when i tried to install Ubuntu ultimate 10.04(any ubuntu), only windows partitions are showing in the partition table. The unallocated space is not shown in the partition table.... and the 'install alongside by windows' option is not showing while installing. Why this happens???

3) Is there any need for changing Dynamic MBR to Basic MBR?
