Continuously have to reset wireless adapter

I am connected to cable isp modem (also new modem, exchanged because I thought it was a modem problem, but wasn't) through Netgear (brand new NETGEAR R6300) wireless router (which I bought because I was having this problem with my old router and I thought it was a router problem, but clearly is not). My connection to internet keeps dropping and I have to keep resetting the wireless adapter (qualcomm atheros) in order to reconnect the router. If I connect direct from computer to modem, there is no drop and the wireless icon on my desktop (windows 7) never shows an interuption of internet unless the router is in the process of resetting. Netgear genie reports no internet access (can't get on line, as well), but the desktop icon shows continual connection. I have done a million power cycles, reset everything I can think of and researched what could be wrong with my wireless adapter. There was a very old thread on here titled "Connection issues, randomly stop connecting" and I found that I have the EXACT issue as that post - this post never said if the issue was solved. I am wondering how telephone line issues could be interfering, if this will help, and if I need to order a repair for that??? Please help!

This was the original thread that I found:
