Server 2008 Newbie issues

I have a home network setup. I am also needing to learn how to configure and setup and run a Server, such as in a small office environment. So here are my details of my system before I explain the problems:

I have a Cisco cable modem running off a charter cable line. Internet connection. Single Ethernet link.

Attached to that via WAN connection, is a Vonage 4 port router with #1 telephone jack activated and connected. Hard wired to this are 2 windows 7 Enterprise desktops, and 1 Server 2008 Standard desktop. Attached to the 4th port, is a Airlink 101 wireless router.

The airlink 101 is connected via standard Ethernet port number 2, not to its WAN but regular LAN. The DHCP is turned off. One last desktop win 7 enterprise is connected to the #1 port. All 3 win 7 computers can see each other on the network. They also have clear internet access. The wireless is secured and passing through 3 different android devices with no issue.

The problem is, the 2008 server can not be seen nor see anything on the network. It claims to have local access only, but it keeps showing me an update icon, and it does update. However, it will not change its ip config. Here is a copy/paste from the command prompt of the server:

C:\Users\Administrator>
I have changed the network connection settings to get its settings via dhcp a number of times. BUt the ip settings will never change no matter what I try to do. So, I am having an issue trying to get the server setting right on the network.
