Page not displaying in IE9

This is a new laptop (about three weeks old). Often, but not always, I get "ïnternet explorer can not display the page". Reloading the page solves the problem. I am using IE9. I have tried resetting internet explorer settings, and it seemed to work for a few hours or so, and then back to not displaying the page at first attempt (as I said, not always, but often enough to become a nuisance). Is there a setting which needs to be checked or unchecked?
