Windows 8 upgrade offer - purchased in May

Hey all,

I bought my HP laptop in May, so it looks like I'm not eligible for the Windows 8 upgrade offer. Would Microsoft be flexible if I were to call them to get the special $14.99 upgrade offer? It's a shame because I purchased it less than a month before the offer applies to.
