Rockers Team W7 Fire Theme

Hello again Everyone,

I purchased a used HP DV 6700 Series Notebook. It seemed fine until I looked at it closer. I have 3 other computers running W7 and this one seemed different. Certain things are not in the places where I would normally find them. In the Computer window I have the HHD and the DVD drive plus 9 "others." Administrative Tools, Desktop Gadgets, Run... Stuff like that. I thought that the people I got it from just did some odd things with it. I'm not sure. But I can fix all that.

I downloaded and installed Firefox, Avast Antivirus, and Malwarebytes Anti-malware. I tried to download Windows Live Essentials. Actually I only wanted Windows Movie Maker. But I had made several attempts but it kept failing. I tried to install some other video editing software but they too failed.

I decided to just Recover the entire computer and start fresh since I had nothing of my own on the computer. I tried to bring up the Recovery Console but no luck. I looked and there was no Recovery Partition. This is when I noticed that the Fire Theme wasn't what I thought it was. I'm still not entirely sure what it is. But it appears that this "theme" is more like a *******ized version of W7. This "theme" is Rockers Team Windows 7 Pro Fire Theme. I think it's a completely reworked operating system. Possibly created to get around Windows Validation? Although it says it's a valid copy.

Ok, here's where the problem starts. I have another copy of W7 on disk so I was just going to use it to Recover the whole thing. I looked at the Product Key on the bottom of the notebook to write it down. But there was 1 digit that had a small scratch in it. I couldn't tell if it was a K or an R. I didn't want to recover without having the Product Key on hand. Just in case.

So I downloaded System Information For Windows by Gabriel Topala. (Great piece of software.) SIW was able to provide me with the following License Numbers. Microsoft Windows NT Current Version Default Product Key, Windows 7 Professional, Windows PID, and Windows Product Key. Windows 7 Professional and Windows Product Key are the same numbers. BUT... None of these numbers match the numbers on the bottom of the notebook.

Which numbers should I use when I recover this machine? Do I even need a Product Key to use a W7 disk for Recovery? (I'd rather not use the Key that came with the disk unless there is no other way. I had other plans for it.) What is Rocker Team Fire Theme?

Can you help?

Thank you in advance,

Randy

(My hand just bumped the notebooks mouse pad and I accidentally opened the Event Viewer - Applications. It is ALL errors with a few warnings thrown in. Mostly MSInstaller failing. There is nothing listed that isn't an error or warning. Another reason to recover this computer.)
