Florida newspaper (tech section) warns that Java has been hacked and suggests the problem(s) the hackers have loaded is supposed to affect all systems that run Java. Article further states that we PC and Mac users should disable Java. Programs that need Java, when invoked are likely to go to a website to "enable" Java...then...after we use it we are to again, disable Java. This is supposed to influence IE, Firefox, Chrome, Safari and others. So, is this a real threat? Java has not sent any Java updates to "correct/fix" any breach of their system so does someone really know how accurate the threat is? (My system is Windows XP/home; using IE, Firefox and Chrome browsers)
