Does my phone get charged through a (non powered) USB hub?

Does my phone get charged through a (non powered) USB hub?
Or do I need to stick into my PC/laptop directly?

If I stick into a hub, is the power received not worth it and I should plug directly?

Just a thought that just came across my mind
