Hello, i've been having some rather frustrating issues with my HD radeon that I think is also related to my having windows 8 consumer preview, and me and my room-mate have as of yet been unable to think of what is causing the issue, or how to fix it.
What happens is, after what I think was a forced driver update, I became unable to play most video games. [Smite, my prototype of castle story]. During the loading screen for these games, the menu flashes repeatedly before I am unable to move my mouse and eventually need to alt f4 the program.
Reverting to a saved copy of the very first driver I installed, these games work again, but none of the others work and I eventually get a bsod with a "Clock_Watchdog_Overflow" error message, which I have been lead to believe is due to my no longer up-to-date driver.
The driver was updated when I tried to install Xcom, which was what triggered the watchdog overflow error to start with.
I may be missing something [I would vote it highly likely], but after two days of tearing at my hair, re-installing and un-installing drivers and messing around with what I feel capable of doing, I am finally out of options that I can come up with.
As an added bit of information, this has happened to mine and a room-mates computer, this driver issue. [Although we run two different card, they're both AMD HD radeon, and my girlfriend has the same card as me, but her computer seems to work fine with her driver? She also uses windows 8.]
