what a mess up!

hi guys & girls hope u can help me with the following
i got a acer netbook D270 which has windows 7 starter pre installed
the windows website said this netbook was compatiable for windows 8
so i installed and it kept crashing grrrrrrrr
so i did a complete restore back to windows 7
now when the netbook starts up and the windows desktop appears i am getting an error:

cant find script engine "VBScript" for script "C:\windows\system32\GFxCUIServiceInstall.vbs"

any ideas? acer said do another restore but i cant see how this will help
