This laptop has been running on terrifyingly slow speeds lately.
It'll be a tad slow on start-up, and even after getting to the desktop finally, i'll still need to wait 10-15 minutes before it is able to start running any programs. Same story for whenever I'm shutting the unit down.
It's a Toshiba Satellite L745, only just a little under a year on my ownership, and I've tried things like cleaning the registry every so often (with CCleaner) and I used to run regular malware scans (Malwarebytes) until I stopped because it would run for 10 hours and not be done scanning. I've deleted things on the Temp folder, uninstalled programs, went with the Disk Defrag and Error Checking tools (both of which also take too long or end up freezing the whole laptop at some point).
This thing starts heating up to ridiculously high temperatures if I do much as run one program that I don't think is even that heavy. Same story with when I run a few tabs on my browser too many + Skype. And if it's any help, that one program I am referring to is DeSmuME.
Also, there's one other concern I'm not sure fits into place here, but I haven't really encountered anything like it so I might as well ask. Browser elements, particularly those running on Flash, start lagging really badly at one point. I am certain it is not a browser problem (I use Chrome primarily) since other tabs that don't have Flash running and the laptop itself are running quite smoothly.
