Why can't I connect to Facebook when I can connect to every other site?
I have Windows 7. Using Internet Explorer or Google Chrome, suddenly I cannot connect to Facebook. I can connect to every other site...even Facebook mobile site. I've read things about DNS server, so I entered some numbers following these instructions:[I found a guy who was a bit cleverer than me (not too difficult) and he changed the DNS server for me . Re-booted the browsers afterwards & everything works fine!
The route to change the DNS server was as follows:
control panel - network and Internet - network and sharing center - wireless network connection - properties - internet protocol version 4 (TCP IPv4) - properties - preferred & alternate DNS server changed to 208 . 67. 222 . 220 & 208 . 67 . 220 . 220]
This worked for a while. But I ran Advanced Care 6 today, and downloaded an update for Quickbooks; downloaded Hotspot Shield, and then Uninstalled it cause it didn't work right. I don't know if any of those things changed anything or not. I took off the 208 DNS numbers, then put them back on again. Rebooted. STILL SAME ISSUE. Using this same internet, my husband's computer can connect to my Facebook page no problem.
I do not have any protection software except Microsoft Security Essentials and also run Advanced Care.
Help!!! Thanks!
