I have a MacBook5,2 laptop running Mac OS X 10.6.8.
Sometimes (often) when I move the cursor, it will select everything as it moves. The problem is worse when I rest my left hand on the space to the left of the trackpad, over the battery. My own practical, but temporary, fix is to power down, remove the battery, replace it, and power up again. This fix is usually good for several hours to a day or so of heavy use before the problem comes back again. I'm wondering if a bad habit I got into might have caused the issue, i.e., picking up the open laptop in one hand by the front left corner in order to move it to a different location. Tx for any thoughts on this!
