ps3 data transfer

My ps3 had to be sent in for service. Sony sent me a new ps3. I have my old ps3 also. I need to transfer everything to my new one. I only have 1 set of cables (power and HDMIcable). Is there a way i can transfer information without having both systems on at the same time? Can i use a USB flashdrive? I am not very smart when it comes to this kind of stuff and have not been able to find instructions. Please help!
