My Linux went down (long story) and I have been trying to get the data off. The hard drive is in great shape.
What I tried to do so far was open up my external hard drive and use the top piece that connect to the top hard drive that connects the USB/power and plugged the USB into my computer. I get a message that says installing drivers (mass storage) and then that's it, nothing else.
It doesn't show up in my computer. Where it does show up is in Computer Management/Disk Management. It doesn't show anything in the "file system" column and that makes me think that windows is not going to mount because it doesn't recognized the file system.
