I have tried every port forwarding and DMZ hosting that I can think of to make my Call Of Duty experience more fun by giving me a connection on my PS3 that at least lets me compete with everyone else instead of being a constant 2 seconds behind them, and nothing has worked.
I run off a Motorola Surfboard sbg6580 modem/router combo I got from TWC when i upgraded to the 30MB speed internet. When I run ping tests and speed tests everything comes back fairly good, speed is 25-30mb and ping, locally is around 11ms. I have run ping tests to the east coast, texas and the west coast all come within normal levels I would expect for these regions.
I have to run a wireless connection cause a wired just isnt possible with my house set up. Quite frankly, I am tired of watching kill cams where I am very clearly playing 2 seconds behind almost everyone else in the game at all times. I heard about "bufferbloat" and "lag compensation" which could be the issue, and have followed every suggestion for clearing up both issues, to no avail.
Can anyone offer some specfic advice form my modem that may give me a better gaming connection beyond or in addition to setting up port forwarding and DMZ hosting, which I have done both. All I want, is to play on an even playing field as everyone else, then let the chips fall where they may. If i lose, I lose, but playing at a 2 second disavantage ALL the time has gotten old.
