Yes, I am unbelievably stupid !

I have a battered IBM think pad T43.

Yesterday while about to connect my Kindle I pushed the wrong end of the USB lead into the USB port.

The computer instantly shut down, no lights showing, completely dead.

Is there a possibility of resurrection which will not involve me paying more than a cost of new computer.
