How do I recover Vista OS from Bios?

Hello Everyone'
I have an older Sony Vaio laptop, model VGN NR280E. I somehow deleted everything in my attempt to do a complete system reinstall. I now have only the Bios. I have tried every setting that I thought would have logically applied in order to install the OS using the two recovery discs. I don't have a backup disc. Maybe the HD is shot. I am not sure how I should proceed at this point. My son thinks I should toss out the laptop and upgrade, but it was working perfectly before I messed it up. If the hard drive is shot, can I copy the recovery discs onto a flash drive and install them that way? How would I go about this if necessary? First if anyone can help guide me through the Bios settings, that my solve my problem. I have attached 5 photos showing each page of the Bios. Any help would be greatly appreciated and passed on to someone else with a similiar problem. See attached photos.
