Hi all,
Probably this is going to be an overly complicated problem but I thought it was worth putting it out there in case any of you can help.
We live in Italy and have a DSL internet connection. Pretty slow but does work. It can work on either of the two routers we have, one supplied by telecom Italia and an old netgear sky router that we brought over from the UK.
My question is, is it possible to have them both connected at the same time?
I've read a few threads that say you can connect the two routers to each other but in this case I think it may not work? And I'm struggling to understand the instructions.
And this is the reason why I want to do it.....
The router we had supplied by telecom italia requires a secondary login via the supplied software (PPPOE)? System works well but it is not possible to access this network with iphone/kindle etc as you can't load up the PPPOE software.
If we use the Netgear router no PPPOE login is needed which means iphone etc can get on the internet but the problem with this set up is that the speed is seriously reduced when more than one computer is on the network (we don't get this slowdown with the PPPOE router)
So in theory a good solution would be to have access to both routers, one for the iphones and kindle etc and let the computers log on to the other router.
I've no idea if this is possible or even makes much sense?
Can anyone help in non tech lingo?
Thanks
