Laptop running very very very slow

Hi All,

No0b to TechGuy Forum. I was really impressed by the tips and solutions providing by the everyone. I am not much of a techy, but know my way around computers.

Since the introduction is out of the way, I need HELP!! My son has a Gateway laptop which I restored to factory specs because it was running slow. Thinking this would solve the problem but it hasn't. The laptop is taking hours to load up Windows and any attempt to run any applications, it would take so much time to load and it would freeze. It's so frustrating I am about to throw the damn thing on the wall.

PLEASE HELP!!
