Hello all
I would be eternally grateful if anyone can help.
I have intermittent internet access from a new laptop. When it works it is fast and consistent, but it seems there is a problem where I can sometimes start getting only part of an internet page, and then it stops downloading altogether.
Below are ipconfig /all and ping tests and a screen shot of the device manager.
A bit of background:
1) There are 4 computers on the network, this laptop (samsung NP530) is the only one where internet is not working
2) It is new, has avast installed as antivirus. Norton came with the laptop but I did not click on the button to activate it when it popped up on first opening
3) A small strange thing: I get "SWMagent is restarting" message when I restart the computer. I don't know what this is.
4) I first had this issue on day 2 after I got the machine. When I first started losing internet, I did a complete reinstall of computer using samsung recovery solution, that did not help. I managed to solve it by uninstalling and reinstalling the network adapter (internet access came right back after restart and reinstall of adapter) but now internet has become unstable again so I guess I didn't fix it after all.
5) So far I have tried only one other internet connection at my school. There it worked fine on two separate occaisions but I am not sure whether that was just luck. Since the other computers on my home network (where I have the problem) are fine and accessing the internet with no issues, I don't think it is a modem problem
6) The modem / connection belongs to my landlady so I can't really go and switch it on and off etc.
If anyone can help, I would be very grateful. The computer is under warranty so I can send it back but I suspect it is a setting problem somewhere maybe?
Thanks in advance and below you will find the ipconfig etc..
