php mysql oscommerce beginner advice suggestions

0
0
I have an operational web store that uses oscommerce. My store has been operational for several years. Most of the time, everything works as it should. There are a few tweeks I would like to make, but I have no way to test anything that involves the PHP code, except to make the change live and see if it works.

So I did that yesterday and I messed something up and have NO IDEA how to fix it. It isn't a matter of just going back to the previous status, because I added three products that show up in one area of the database table products_id, but are not showing up in at least two other views: database table product_description, nor do they show up in my online store OsCommerce Administration: admin/categories.php?cPath=38&pID=XXXX

I am not a programmer by any stretch. Is this a good forum to get help for this type of situation? If not, can you recommend another trusted free forum similar to this one where I can get help in a everyday common sense format. I am totally lost when I go to the OSCommerce support site or to the PHPMyAdmin support site or the MYSql support site. They seem to cater to the GeekSpeak techies.

Please advise or refer. Thank you so very much.

if hard drive has been scrubbed, windows 8 reinstalled. all drivers apparently up to date. what are the possible causes of limited connectivity? Could it still be a virus or hardware issue?
(its not the router either)

Has RovnixVirus,MustBackup Files-?How

Running Vista Home Premium 32 bit, slow DSL on Toshiba Satellite, am contacting you by a clean computer. Rovnixgen!C:o was detected by Microsoft Security, but not malwarebytes. Also, someone remotely to me has taken over my admin control . Anyway, I need to back up my files before I do anything else. Is there a safe way to do this? If so, How? NOTE: I tried to register from that computer, but it did not work. I eventually want to ditch microsoft and install a Linux OS, but figure I'd have to get back admin control to accomplish that. Help! Can't download TSG SYSInfo here. Is it safe to reboot infected computer to do that? Or might that foul up my account access here? I do have the list from hijackthis. Should I upload it from this clean computer? Also have list from malwarebytes.

My Desktop cannot connect to the internet! (wired)

My desktop cannot connect to the internet. It is using a wired connection. I tried connecting to the internet both wired and wirelessly with my laptop and it was able to access the internet both times. I used the same ethernet cable for my laptop and desktop too. Could this be a hardware problem for my desktop, or could there possibly be settings on my desktop that are screwed up within it? When I plug the wire into my desktop, light from the plug comes on, both green and orange. And when I look at my modem, it shows that my desktop is in fact connected to it. The bottom right corner of my desktop shows that there is a computer screen with a caution sign in front of it, meaning "No internet access".

I've been having weird issues with my router recently. It was going on and off the past week, and then yesterday it just completely stopped. My modem was not able to receive anything from the router. Today, I called the company and they reset my signal and said everything seems to be fine with my router. The modem was still not working, so I got another modem(the same modem that was used when testing my laptop and desktop in the first paragraph), and those were the results. I portforwarded the other week, and I dont know if any of this has to do with my desktop not connecting to the wired internet, but I was doing some whacky stuff on my desktop under Networks when attempting to portforward so I feel like I should say this to make sure these aren't potential causes.

I have a technician coming tomorrow anyway to check the router out, but since my laptop is working, I feel like Im pointlessly making him come out here, to look at a working router.

Pls help and thank you

Iformation Bar Keeps Popping Up

Each time I bring up IE8 on XP Professional of my client's computer, an information bar keeps popping up. I open a new tab, it keeps popping up. I've tried disabling and enableing all activeX in Custom Level of the Security Tab in Internet Options, but nothing seems to work.

I have disable all addons (it doesn't give me the option to remove any of them). the message in the bar reads as follows: "Internet Explorer is currently running with add-ons disabled. click here to manage, disable or remove your add-ons."

I've disabled them all and then endabled them all (currently all are enabled), and still the information bar keeps popping up.

I simply want the information bar to stop popping up.

Ideas anyone? Thanks.

Solved: iPhone 4S 'steals' mail from laptop

I'm new to a smart phone and though I like it there are one or two issues I don't know how to resolve. The main one is that it's only on my default mail account that I receive mail on both iPhone and pc. My other mail accounts only deliver to the phone. I want to be able to read them on both. How can I do this please?

My server is BT and on the phone all the mail accounts are set to IMAP. I was told to set it to Keep copy on Server but I don't have that option.

Appreciate some help please.
BTW please don't ask for a screen shot of my phone settings because I don't have a clue how to do that on a phone.

Doing some backup work on wife's laptop noticed that clicking on apps icons responds sluggishly, sometimes 20-30 sec for app to start. Can some please analyze the attached Hijack log and suggest remedies if possible? I have already removed some malware with MalwareBytes Anti-Malware and SUperantispyware.
Thanks.

SP3 Is Wrong Version

0
0
I had decided to do a repair install of my XP SP3 system and so was looking - unsuccessfully - for a place to download SP3 but could only find the IT version. Then my computer crashed, and a tech ended up doing the repair install for me. He scrambled around his shop looking for an SP3 disc saying he didn't think I could download it any more. After I got my darling home, I encountered a few little glitches but was able to straightened them out.

Here is my problem: I have reason to believe that the SP3 that was installed in the shop, is the same IT version I was trying to avoid. I want to get rid of it and install the correct version for my XP Home system.

Question 1: How can I download SP3 for XP Home or find an SP3 disc?
Question 2: If I uninstall the IT version and turn on Automatic Updates (yes, I have it turned off), will MS install SP3?
Question 3: I'd really like to be able to save a copy of SP3 in case I need it sometime in the future. Is there a way to do that?
Question 4: What is the name of SP3 (home version)? You know, KB????? In AddRemove Programs and in Revo it only shows the file as SP3.

I'd appreciate any help you can provide. Thanks.

LG BH10LS38 BD-RE having difficulties with certain tasks

I have a BH10LS38 (BD-RE) and CH10LS20 (BD-ROM) drive installed. The BD-ROM drive will read anything I put in it and successfully write DVDs and CDs, which is helpful as it rules out any bad discs as being the problem.

The BD-RE drive will read CDs and DVDs just fine, but won't write anything successfully.

When I put a BD in for it to read, it will sit there pondering over it, and when I try to access it in explorer, explorer crashes and I have to restart the explorer process and get Device Manager to search for the hardware again (which then re-discovers the drive, fresh for another breaking).

I've updated the firmware for the drive from 1.00 to 1.03 - no change. I've also tried looking for the latest driver, windows goes 'nah already got it' and says it's a typical CD/DVD/BD drive. It looks like it's using the same driver for the working BD-ROM.

Everything is pointing towards a hardware fault which is REALLY not what I want to hear. Just wondering if anyone here has any suggestions or had a similar experience?

Atheros 9285 not finding any Networks under windows 8

Hey there !

I'm going crazy here, I hope you can help !

For compatibility reasons (running macosX) I have switched my old adapter with an atheros 5B195 in my ACER V5-471.

In Mac Os it looks like it is working but cant find any networks to connect to.
In Windows 8, the OS says the adapter is there and working but unavailable. The wifi appears to be turned off, but there is no way to turn it back ON, either by hitting Fn+F3 or any other technique. I managed to get it ON once or twice with some drivers, but couldnt find any networks either, I turned it off and then couldnt turn it back ON.

The funny thing is that everything is working fine with a live CD of Ubuntu, so I know the adapter is working.

The bluetooth part works fine on the three systems.

The system messages for both Macosx and Windows show the adapter as being here and working fine.

Any suggestion ?

:)

THanks !

I have a Toshiba laptop with Windows 8 (Version ?) that has apps for Sports and Weather. In the past, we've clicked those to go to more info on Sports and Weather. I think it goes thru Bing. Now we click on those and the go to the first page and then just sits there--we can't access anything else. Any ideas?

sound problem

Hello, I've got a problem and I don't know how to fix it.
about an hour ago I installed a driver for my webcam (A4TECH) and since then I don't have sound anymore. :(

The PC say that it plays the sound and the TV is the standard audio player.
If I plug in my earplugs I hear it just fine, does anyone know a solution ?
In the attachment you will see a screenshot with some info, maybe helpful.
(Sorry for my bad English)

Edit: Sound goes with HDMI to the television.
